Travelling along the Coburg Peninsula Road takes you past the southern end of Wauk Lagoon near Murgenella. It is a beautiful peaceful spot through a tunnel of lush vegetation.
On our way northwards, the view included a Black-necked Stork, Radjah Shelducks and a Little Egret only metres from the road.
Coming back we tarried a little longer and located a few more birds in the trees including an Azure Kingfisher and this Blue-winged Kookaburra.
This is on Aboriginal Trust land and a permit is required to pass through it to the Garig Gunak Barlu National Park.
